The Story so far...

The Katie Philpott School of Dance was established in 2000 by its namesake
to celebrate and share her passion for dance and now provides classes in Mirfield for more than 350 students.

Hope you are all enjoying the summer break!

We are delighted to announce our next main show Sea Cruise Boogie will be held on 28 and 29 March 2020 at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield.

Put the dates in your diary and watch this space and our social media pages for more information in September when the new term begins - we can't wait to entertain everyone again with our fast-paced and energetic show!

We are also delighted to announce that our timetable is growing even bigger with new classes starting in September in ISTD Bronze Jazz, Junior Lyrical Jazz, Contemporary ISTD Prep and Contemporary ISTD Inter Foundation - for more details email katie@katiephilpott.co.uk.

We're looking forward to lots of appearances at community events in and around Mirfield this summer, keep an eye on our Facebook page for photographs and videos of our performances. We'll be dancing, come rain or shine so hope to see you there, cheering on our wonderful students!

On July 14th, our Junior Cheerleaders once again took part in the Mirfield Festival Carnival Parade and had a fabulous time dancing to Let's Get Loud - and we'll be back entertaining the crowds in the main ring at the Mirfield Show as always!

Don't forget if your son or daughter wants to take their first steps in the world of dance, our FREE TRIAL classes are available at all levels and we have spaces for children from aged two upwards.

Philpott School of Dance is one of the area’s leading dance academies, offering multi-genre dance and musical theatre classes to more than 350 students with ages ranging from three to 63.  

Based in Mirfield, in the heart of West Yorkshire, the KPSD has a busy team of professionally qualified teachers of tap, ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz and street dance.

Alongside providing a safe environment where dance is enjoyed for fun and fitness, the School is a respected ISTD examinations centre and many young students go on to further their careers in dance.

    Katie began dancing at the age of five at the Angela Reynolds and Dorothy Stevens dance schools.

    CREATIVE DIRECTOR

    Rachel started dancing and acting when she was just three and is also a graduate of the KPSD!

    Sophie came through the KPSD ranks, attending her first modern dance class relatively late at the age of 11.

    Hannah joined KPSD in 2010 and is a registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher after completing her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies in the same year.

    Candy began dancing at Kathleen West’s School of Dance and went on to further her training at the Hammond School of Dance.
