Examinations

ISTD examinations in Tap, Imperial Ballet, Modern and Jazz are held throughout the KPSD school year.  However, exams are optional and if a student does not want to participate they will still move up to the next grade if we are satisfied that they are ready.  We will inform all parents of examination dates and an application form will need to be completed and the relevant fees paid as soon as possible.  (Please note that exam fees are non-refundable).  It is the responsibility of the student and their parent / guardian to ensure correct uniform is worn on the day of the examination.  Items can be ordered from Karen Rogers but please be aware that out-of-stock items may take up to 28 days for delivery.

IMPERIAL BALLET

PRE-PRIMARY & Primary

• Blue leotard & skirt
• Pink ballet socks
• Pink leather ballet shoes with elastics

GRADE 1 & 2

• Blue leotard with belt (borrowed on exam day)
• Pink leather ballet shoes with ribbons from grade 2 upwards
• Pink ballet tights
• Split sole ballet shoes are now allowed in examinations

GRADE 3, 4 AND 5

• Plum leotard with belt (no skirt)
• Pink satin or leather ballet shoes with ribbons
• Pink ballet tights

GRADE 6 AND INTERMEDIATE FOUNDATION

• Black plain strap leotard with belt
• Pink satin ballet shoes / pointe shoes
• Pink ballet tights

INTERMEDIATE

• Navy or black plain strap leotard with belt
• Pink satin ballet shoes / pointe shoes
• Pink ballet tights

GRADE 3 & 4

• Red velvet and black lycra leotard

• Black tap shoes with Tele Tone taps

GRADE GRADE 5, 6 & Intermediate

• Black leotard
• Black opaque footed dance tights
• Black velvet shorts
• Black tap shoes with Tele Tone taps

MODERN & JAZZ

PRIMARY, GRADE 1 & 2 MODERN
